TECHNOLOGY

Technology is applied science. The technology has interesting origins. The word techno comes the Greek word for arts and skill.Another Greek origin of technology is techno logia meaning systematic treatment.Technology is used to produce medicine, preserve food, and develop new sources of energy. Moreover, special machines are how used to look inside the human body. These machines can detect injury or diseases of heart and other organs.Computers that have been invented and developed make tasks easier.
During the early days, science and technology were separeted from each other.Technology belonged to tanners, millers, and silversmiths.Do you know Thomas Edison the inventor of electric lamp,Alexander Graham bell the inventor of  the telephone, and Guglielmo Marconi the inventor of the wireless telegraph.Technology has helped improve our lives.Throug technology we have better shelter and clothing, increased food production, and a higher standard of living. In the field of agriculture, technology has helped imorove food production and preservatiion.the effects of technology on society and the environment :chaged mans lifestyle, changed human values.Affected peoples health, replaced people in their jobs, affected the environment and destroyed natured.

Most of the water we use for drinking has been scientifically treated and purified. We use electric appliances at home and our offices. We use machines that simplify the tasks of daily living. Better clothing is available because science and technology have provided better fabrics and improved methods of textile manufacture. Technology has also made possible the development of better soaps and cleaners to clean our clothes, more nourishing food for our bodies, better materials for building homes, and more effective drugs to cure or prevent diseases. Technology can also have harmful effects. The outcome of technology should be considered and carefully studied to determine its effects on man and society.
Other far-reaching developments may accompany the advancement of technology. examples are language-translation machines that will bring the goal of worldwide communication a step closer; increased success in the transplant of natural vital organs from one person’s body to another; and probably the most dramatic of them all, the establishment of a manned spacecraft on the moon. It’s possible that within your lifetime, you I may see the partial control of the weather; the complete elimination or control of viral and bacterial diseases. The correction of hereditary defects; and the laboratory creation of primitive forms of artificial life.
Soon many of you will receive computer-based instruction that permits a ‘conversation’ between you and the computer. Emerging developments will make computer programming, decision theory, and systems analysis more meaningful. We now live in dynamic age of satellite-relayed television, electromechanical ‘brains’, guided missile, and miracle drugs. Each of these far-reaching developments will affect our daily lives. A study of the products of science and a fuller understanding of the role they play in the modern society is important. For instance, gases produced by cars and factories may pollute the air and produce harmful effects. Take a closer look at your environment.
The message is clear. Technology should be used with caution. It should be used to produce new products and develop new methods, which could help many people lead healthy lives. But the harmful effects of technology must be carefully weighed and prevented.
Changes in technology: because the number of people in the world is growing so rapidly. A growing number of people will have more resources to fill their needs. People are also using more resources because of changes in technology {tek-NAHL-uh-jee}. This is the use of tools and machines used today help people produce huge amounts of goods in short time. Large amounts of different resources are needed to make these goods. Factories need many things besides natural resources to make goods. They need trained workers. They need new tools and machines. They also need money to hire the workers and buy the tools and machines. Some countries, such as the United States, Great Britain, and Japan, have many factories. Other countries are working to build more factories. Do you think more and more resources will be needed as are built?
Developed countries all people are not able to fill their needs and wants in the same way. In some places, the ways in which people fill their needs have not changed much in hundreds of years. In other places, the changed greatly. Countries in which the ways people fill their needs have changed greatly are known as developed countries. Generally, these countries have many factories. People in these countries often use to improved their technology. This improved technology helps people in developed countries grow more food and make more goods. Because of improved technology, the people in developed countries generationally have enough food, clothing, and housing. However, many people in these countries do not have enough money to buy things to fill their needs. Developed countries also have education and proper health care for most of their people. Do you think these things are important to people? Why or why not?
These are over twenty developed countries in the world today. Among these countries are the United States, Canada, Japan and most of the countries of Western Europe. Developing countries people in a number of places in the world today still live in much the same that their early ancestors lived. These people often do not know about the changes that happen in developed countries-countries that generally have few factories. Many people may not know little about science. So these people may not know how to change or improved  their technology. Most people in developing countries make a living by farming. However, there is often a shortage of food in these countries. This is cause  farmers in these countries do not have the ways and the machines need to raise large of crops. It is also because the population in some of these  countries is growing very rapidly.Because of this growth, farmers cannot raise enough food to feed all people.Besides not having enough to eat, people in developing countries often not enough clothing.

THE PICTURE BELOW SHOWS HOW FARMERS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES USE SIMPLE HAND TOOLS TO PREPARE THE SOIL FOR PLANTING....
